The Cabral property was donated, to the Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy, by Sarah D. Cabral. The donation took place on October 21, 1998, through a Quit Claim Deed. The property is know as Plat 40, Lot 67 in the Little Compton Assessors Map Book. The Cabral property is located on Colebrook Road.
A Baseline Documentation Report was completed on the property in December 2020. The Report outlines the history of the property, as well as, its current land uses (see below). The entire report may be viewed on this website.
Prior Land Uses: The Premises has been forested since the earliest available aerial photography from 1939. In the decades since, the Premises seem to have been relatively undisturbed, save for the relatively young age of the forest, hinting at a deforestation event in the past, which is common for forests in Southern New England.
Current Land Uses: At present, the Premises are dense forest and forested swamp throughout. The Premises lack continuity with other conservation properties, has a high water table and is rather small in area. There is no planned public access in the form of parking, trails or signage.
