In 2009, the Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust purchased the development rights to Plat 2, Lot 11-5, from Fraud Farm LLC. Plat 2, Lot 11-5 is located on West Main Road, and is comprised of 12.59 acres of land. The Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust and the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) partnered to protect this property via a Deed to Development Rights. Lot 11-5 is one of four contiguous lots protected by the Peckham family. The property is currently farmed by Jason Peckham.

Prior Land Uses: Periodic Historical photographs dating back to 1939 show the long agricultural history of the Protected Property. Early photographs show the current conservation area bisected into several separate fields by a number of dividing stonewalls. This configuration was maintained until sometime in the 1950’s. In 1959-1961, the Watson Reservoir was constructed to the east of the Protected Property by the City of Newport.
Current Land Uses: The Protected Property is currently being farmed by Jason Peckham. The Protected Property was protected by a Deed to Development Rights with the Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust(LCACT and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service on June 26, 2006.
Proposed Future Use: It is the purpose of the Deed to Development Rights to maintain the Protected Property for agricultural production and the preservation of conservation values in perpetuity.
