On November 15, 2012, the Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the State of Rhode Island Agricultural Land Preservation Commission partnered to purchase the development rights to this property, from Ms. Paris St. Pierre. The purchase of the development rights was executed through a Deed to Development Rights, which is recorded in the Little Compton Land Evidence Records.
Located on the corner of Long Highway and William Sisson Road, Plat 30, Lot 39-1 consists of 20.2236 acres of land. The Deed to Development preserves 17.2236 acres of the total property. The property is primarily utilized as a horse farm. A Baseline Documentation Report was completed on June 12, 2012. This report may be viewed in its’ entirety on this website.
