Created in 2012, the Dundery Brook Trail allows visitors to experience nature first hand. A wooden boardwalk provides for an easy walk for younger children and those who may have difficulty getting around. The boardwalk is accessible behind the tennis courts located at Veteran’s Field. Visitors may enjoy the Dundery Brook Trail from dawn to dusk each day.
Dundery Brook Trail’s boardwalk takes visitors through a forested wetland, and swamps, ending at an old field. A cut cart path then allows visitors to hike around a pond. A variety of native plant species and animals are visible at different times of the year. Bird species including the yellow warbler, vireos, hawks, owls and wood ducks utilize the area for breeding. Deer and wild turkeys are also frequently seen in the area. Additional information regarding the Dundery Brook Trail is available on The Nature Conservancy website: www.nature.org.
