About Us

The Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust was created by the residents of Little Compton in 1986, with the mission of preserving farmland and open space in the face of growing development pressures. Citizens who voted to fund the Ag Trust with property transfer fees sought to preserve viable farmland, estuaries, ocean access, and space for recreational activities. They also recognized that the protection of groundwater recharging areas, like wetlands and vernal pools, was critical to every household in Little Compton, since we all rely on clean well water.

The Ag Trust is composed of seven Trustees who meet monthly in meetings that are open to the community. We welcome you to attend. Meeting schedules are posted on the town calendar at www.LittleComptonRI.org.
